This year’s event marks the eighth edition of AFUEE as Austrade continues to promote Australian education to the next generation of Mongolian students. See you all on 21 September 2019 at the Shangri-La Hotel.
Did you know Australia has the third highest number of international students in the world behind only the United Kingdom and the United States despite having a population of only 23 million? This isn’t surprising when you consider Australia has seven of the top 100 universities in the world! In fact, with over 22,000 courses across 1,100 institutions, Australia sits above Germany, France and Japan, ranking tenth in the Universitas 2018 U21 Ranking of National Higher Education Systems.
It is not surprising then that Australia is becoming an increasingly popular destination for Mongolian students. The number of Mongolian students has increased significantly every year. More than 3,000 Mongolian students enrolled in Australian Education Institutions as at September 2019, up 48%. Currently, over 6,000 Mongolian students study in Australia.
But it is not only the large range of courses from highly ranked Universities that attracts Mongolian’s to study in Australia:
- Australia has 4 of the 30 best cities in the World for students to live (topuniversities.com)
- Australia is ranked the ninth happiest country in the world (prosperity.com/ranking.aspx)
- A quality education does not come at a high cost relative to many international competitors, including the United States.
- Cost of living is not as high as many other destinations – recent data from 2016 Economist Cost of Living Survey indicates Australian cities are cheaper than many others in the world.
Australia will also assist after graduation through providing global alumni networks through which Mongolians can connect with more than 2,500,000 fellow alumni worldwide.
